william from Taiwan -
Recently I bought a VGA converter manufactured by AV TECH from Taiwan, and I think this product is quite good after using for a week. The price is cheap and lower than other VGA converters, but it's quality is much better than I expected. The image output on my LCD monitor is very sharp and clear, and the installation is very easy. No additional driver program is needed. In addition, it can also work with other image output devices, such as DVD Player, DV recorder...etc. The connection line can be extended up to 50m if needed. (I've done the testing and the image is still very clear within 40m without any distortion!) Below is the information for this VGA converter. If you have any interests, you can take a look :)

I am a total newcomer to this business. I am looking for a video format converter that will take CCTV formats such as .vdb etc. It seems that those advertised never seem able to handle this format which I want to change to a more popular format for enhancement of poorer quality footage. Is there such a thing? I have installed a DVR of surveillance CCTV with 16 connected analog camera, the output of the DVR is VGA and i have connected this output to 42" LCD Monitor Viewsonic to the input VGA but the quality of the image are very poor, all is new. I will appreciate too much if someone let me know how can to improve the quality of the image on LCD. Remarks: Currently the setup of the DVR is running with the best quility. If i connect the DVR to the Monitor 17" SVGA work well. Thanks for your reply Martin MSN: csv_martin@hotmail.com SKYPE: martinexus Ps: Please add my nick for chat

"A useful vga converter for CCTV industry"
Dear martin, I think the problem is Viewsonic native resolution. It does not match with VGA resolution of the DVR. Some type is WSVGA 1366x768 or 1920x1080. First check your DVR manual, what resolution it can supports. 800x600, 1280x768 or else other. Then set your Viewsonic resolution to match VGA output. If black bar appears on left and right side of the monitor, set your display mode to wide(16:9). Use your remote control to configure, some manufacturer doesn't use front panel for advanced configuration.
