Ask Your Bank Manager

Thank author of this post/commentIf you are known at your bank with either the loans manager or the bank manager I am sure that if you asked them in a nice way that they would probably show you your credit rating if you have any doubts about what might be on it.

In that way you can see who has not removed you for a past debt and who you should get in touch with in order to get this straightened out.

Or if you don't know them well, go and talk to them and say you are worried that something might still be on there which would prevent you from taking out a loan and could they please check for you because you are thinking of buying "a car, a boat, a home" and you want to deal through them if at all possible.

This is just a suggestion.

Somewhere Out There
Thank author of this post/commentWould they be allowed to do that. I figured you would have to be applying for a loan to have them pull your credit.

from my desk!
Thank author of this post/commentIf you are interested in that, that would be a good idea, but you don't want to do it unless you have a feeling that someone may be using your identity to make purchases. Too many inquiries can hurt your score.

If you have been denied credit, you may get a free report from the credit burea to see why.
