I am a college student and I am taking up IT. I have the task to research about Cryptography as part of my academic activity. I understand that Cryptography is the study of hiding information. I gathered some information regarding ATM cards, computer passwords, and electronic commerce which I believe are the application related to Cryptography. I would like to know where I can get some books discussing about the risk of Cryptography. Thank you.

I love cryptography. I learned this when I was in college. Our class even tried to make our own secret code. It was really fun.

It's the process of creating codes or secret writing to mislead enemies and protect important information. This is useful to secure data that only the involved person should know. Well, in this modern world, we also have modern cryptography. It is improved even more so that details would be kept confidential.

Cryptography is very interesting from a human psychological point of view. The point is to create a code that can not be hacked yet readable by the intended parties. Schemes using simple playing cards to complex algorithms have been used to much avail but codes can always be broken. I wonder if there is the perfect, unbreakable code out there somewhere waiting to be discovered.
