Answers: If someone accessed my unencrypted wifi network, can I monitor their co

Thank author of this post/commentRight now my wifi network is encrypted with wpa2, but if i disabled the encryption and didn't require a password to connect, and someone connected, can i monitor their computer and access their files?

Thank author of this post/comment"Of course!"

The data travels from your router to your modem through a cable. Anything that goes over that cable you could monitor (whether the wifi part was encrypted or not).

Of course if the person accesses to SSL or other encrypted sites you will see the encrypted data, since that is encrypted/decrypted on their computer and the server.

That is the essence of a scam where someone sets up a "fake" wifi access point.
