If Security Fails You

Okay, you have taken all the precautions you can think about to prevent identity theft.

You cover your hand when you push in your PIN number for your bank card when making a purchase or doing ATM banking. You keep all your information to yourself as best you can.

What can be done if somehow someone does get your identity? I have heard some real horror stories about this and it scares the life out of me.

I don't know if there is much you can do to prevent it. Just be as careful as possible. Many people leave checkbooks in their house in clear view for a robber. Keep the checkbooks and extra checks hidden. Be sure to hide all bank receipts and atm slips. What to do if your identity has been stolen, I suppose contact the credit reporting agencies first and they will tell you what to do from there???
