| What if you cannot clear your identity? It sounds like a crazy book or movie, but does it happen to people that they cannot get their identity back and basically have it tarnished forever because of some malicious identity theft? |
| It is very hard to clear up your identity once it’s been stolen can take years to clean up and clear up. It sucks I know. But happens at times. |
| That is a big what if, if you'll ask me. As far as I am aware of, there are some cases where the innocent has been incarcerated in exchange of the sins of the identity thief, but later would be released. The immediate answer to this kind of conflict is to immediately report a missing credit or identification card, or monitoring any banking transaction associated with that missing identity card. |
