Precaution put to waste

No matter how much you prepare for something, if you are the focus of attack, every precaution you took will just be wasted. This is what I recently realized as my credit card got hacked. My thirteen year old son later told me that Sony's PSN got recently hacked and some credit card information might went out public. It was every parent's nightmare. Thank God, I immediately reported and closed my credit card.

Thank author of this post/comment"Who cares?"

Who cares really when credit card information is stolen? You are well protected and the system easily closes your account and issues you a new card.

Many people have their card information stolen because someone makes random numbers and it turns out to be theirs.

That is not an excuse for Sony keeping that information in an online accessible database. Businesses need to separate that needs to be kept in online accessible databases and what doesn't. Segregate the data.

That is really a terrible experience. But thank you for posting since this will serve as a reminder to all people who encoded their credit card information on the internet. Well we simply want to make easy transactions online. However, there are also disadvantages in putting personal information on the internet. Hence, it will be helpful if computer experts will enhance the program not to reveal private information on the internet.

It is really not safe to disclose any private and vital information online. But the convenience of transacting online makes it hard for people to drop online transactions. But I think as long as we are dealing with legitimate websites and that we are being careful to where we disclose our personal and vital information, then we could be safe, somehow.

But it seems that every stuffs online are not private at all.
