| Yahoo! Answers: Can I shoot an intruder in Michagan? Ok, first off, I'm only 16. Yea yea yea i know, but i don't want any BS about gun safety etc. I'm the type if kid to check and recheck to make sure the gun is unloaded, safety on etc. Now that that's out of the way, My mom is divorced since '04 or '05 and we just recently moved to a retired farm. We rent the place from a woman who's husband was a crack head and came after her so she divorced him and moved out of state. He is not legally allowed on the property but still comes around from time to time. He took the rototiller while we weren't home, so i put a lock on the barn door. he brings it back a month later again with out telling us he's coming, then calls and gives us this BS about how he's pissed off about us locking the barn THEN get this, he tells us "IT'S STILL HIS HOUSE AND HE WOULD HAVE GIVEN US A COPY OF THE KEY to the original lock" First of all, he is the one I am trying to keep out, SECOND it's NOT his house, it's her's. I had to change the locks on the house because he came in the house while we where moving in, again when he wasn't supposed to. Last sunday, I saw a flashing light in the window a few times and i figure it was him. My german shepherd/Husky mix was laying on the floor next to the couch so i figure he saw the dog and thought better of breaking in. Yesterday, his truck pulled into the drive, then sped away once he saw the cars there. That got me worried so last night, I brought my shotgun and a box of .00 buckshot shells up from the basement gun safe because my mom is going on a trip to chicago and I will be the only one home for the weekend. I know how to properly handle firearms, and Ive had weapons safety classes as well as hunter's safety but as you can see, I clearly can NOT type very well (lol) Now I've got to ask, if this stupid sob breaks in, can I shoot low and claim self defense? |
