What is the real objection to an ID? In South Africa and Israel one needs to have one and the ID number is constantly required on many documents one has to fill out. Often the only way to check something in a Government dept. is by supplying the ID number.

The United States was founded to be DIFFERENT.

Now.. look at the economic differences between the USA and South Africa... do we want to strive to be more like South Africa or should South Africa strive to be more like the USA?

Just because other countries are unfree dosen't mean the USA should strive to demolish the liberty of its citizens. Nor does the deprivation of liberty equal freedom from terrorism.
