I clicked on a phishing link....?

Thank author of this post/commentWell i receive a email from paypal saying that i have to update my account or it will be close. So i clicked on the link but it doesn't look right so i didn't enter any information what so ever. So can people still get my personal infromation if i just clicked on the link? (And i find out that was a phishing mail and forward it to paypal)

Good thing that you recognized the phishing email. It won't harm your account as long as you didn't fill in any information from the website. That's why it is very important for you to be cautious enough when you receive malicious email.

One good thing that you can do also is to scan your computer for virus. You may use you free anti-virus software. You can also send paypal phishing email to this link.

the most they could have gotten by your clicking on the link was your IP address, and possibly put some sort of worm or virus on your system, which a good program should be able to easily detect and remove. Generally if paypal or some other service were to do that, they would send a couple of emails with legitimate addresses as well as notify you on the actual site they belong to.
