AAA gives private member info to collection bureaus

oldtimer from Florida -
I've been a member, of the American Automobile Association, for 38 years, and I was greatly disturbed, when I got a telephone call, from an out-of-state, collection bureau, using AAA, on my phone caller ID. The caller denied knowing anything, about AAA, and AAA Auto Club South said they never release private, member information. Upon investigation, I found out that AAA is affiliated, with Bank of America, with whom they do share member's private info, since they are affiliates. Bank of America then releases the protected info to private, collection bureaus, probably for a fee. I am outraged, by AAA violating a long-time member's privacy, in this way. I just wish, that all AAA members could become aware, of their disturbing policy, as I believe that I am not the only one, who would be quite upset. • Page 1 (Original Post) •
