Safest Credit Card Transactions We buy credit cards at our bank. You know the ones that are reloadable. That way if anyone gets ahold of it or the number it would not hurt as bad since it isn't one of our personal cards. That is a suggestion I have for those of you that plan on using a credit card for online purchases or even Christmas Shopping.
Actually, credit cards are probably the safest way to make any purchase, anywhere. (Note, I said credit cards, not debit cards, not atm cards, not phone cards). If you have tremdous rights to dispute transactions, especially transactions that you did not authorize and did not sign for. Even if you did authorize and sign the receipt you still have rights to dispute the charge. Two examples: You take out $500 in cash and lose it or have it stolen. Your out $500. or Your credit card or credit card number is stolen. How much are you out? Go read the small print on the back of your card and let me know the answer here.
I am still new to this whole debit, credit and ATM card business. What is the major difference between all the above? Does that mean fraud is controlled by use of a credit card? If my 6th grade business studies were on point, debit means to deposit and credit means to remove. Right?
