| This seed vault in the artic...? I just saw this part of a History Channel show talking about "Svalbard Global Seed Vault" and how it would save the world and humans if there was a catastrophe.. but then they talked about how if you were a vandal you would have to face polar bears, security and the freezing cold to get to it. HOW IS A POST DISASTER HUMAN RACE SUPPOSED TO REACH AN IMPENETRABLE ARTIC VAULT??? What is the point if it is impossible to get to?? |
| I think Svalbard Global Seed Vault could be very useful to protect the environment. In case of accidental loss of diversity, Svalbard Global Seed Vault can serve as protection for it. I think the inventor of this seed vault must think of another way on how to protect in from the invasion of other wild animals. I think the main concern of the people this time is to retrieve indigenous seeds, in case of a local or a global, disaster. |
| I imagine that going to the seed vault would not be attempted until the post disaster humans had some basic needs met such as food, water, shelter, and protection from outside elements and roving creatures, and once they felt like they could start growing crops again, then they might try to reach the arctic vault. it's really a charming idea. Very romantic, even if it isn't a little too impractical. |
