| That's for sure. Also when you "borrow" other people's cd's to install new software or programs of any sort you are also installing any viruses that they might have on their computers as well. So always beware of what software you are downloading and what software you are borrowing from other people. Make sure that they do not have virus and spyware problems before you borrow the CD. |
| Downloading anything scares me. I downloaded a couple of programs from legit sites a couple of days ago. The next day I turned on my computer and it was so slow. I deleted the programs and rebooted. Now it is back to normal. You really have to be careful. |
| I never thought of that, but makes sense. They probably sell there ads to these software programs for a small fee. Do you think they have to let people know that before they begin download? Or is it kind of like buyers beware. |

| Problem is that even after using running anti-spyware software and deleting some of the advertising spyware, it gets re-installed next time you reboot. Many of these issues can only be solved by actually deleting entries from the registry manually and this shouldn't be undertaken lightly by just anyone. I'm not convinced that running anti-spyware software will solve this problem long term, so yes, one has to run it daily straight after boot-up to make it really effective. I'm usually in too much of a hurry to do this though :) |
| Yea the files are actually embedded into other files on the hard drive, many times in places that would be unsuspecting or very hard to find for the average user. |
