Cell phones and viruses

Thank author of this post/commentWhat is the potential for viruses affecting cellphones that use web access? Many of the new phones use email and browsing extensively and I wondered whether it was in fact necessary to consider using some sort of antivirus software on them?

Thank author of this post/commentI think it's just going to be a matter of time before viruses start hitting cell phones. I swear that my cell phone was hit by a virus last year - it just blanked out. I brought it into the dealer and then just said it was a fluke. they had to give me a brand new cell phone.

Thank author of this post/commentI believe that there is something you can purchase for online security while on your cell phone. My sister has a Blackberry and I thought I heard her say something about protection while online...not sure though. I'd double check with your cell phone company if you use your phone and its online features.

I did not even know you could get a virus on your phone from accessing the internet. how do you know if you have one on your phone and if you do, what program can you buy to remove and prevent anymore from getting on your phone.

Is this only if your internet is dial up?

Well I think it depends on the service provider and the cellphone model. Just thought of it though.

For sure you'll need some antivirus software installed on your cell phone to prevent a virus attack. Just in case. And if it happen that a virus hit your cell phone, I think the possibility of removing the virus is 70%

Just try to seek for a professional advise though. Thanks a lot.
