'Cell phones and viruses'

What is the potential for viruses affecting cellphones that use web access? Many of the new phones use email and browsing extensively and I wondered whether it was in fact necessary to consider using some sort of antivirus software on them?

I think it's just going to be a matter of time before viruses start hitting cell phones. I swear that my cell phone was hit by a virus last year - it just blanked out. I brought it into the dealer and then just said it was a fluke. they had to give me a brand new cell phone.

I believe that there is something you can purchase for online security while on your cell phone. My sister has a Blackberry and I thought I heard her say something about protection while online...not sure though. I'd double check with your cell phone company if you use your phone and its online features.
