f-prot

Thank author of this post/commentA few years back one could download free antivirus software from f-prot. I had a look recently and saw that nowadays they charge for their software. Does anyone know whether the freeware version is still available?

Thank author of this post/commentHmm, never even heard of them before. I did a search and saw that they had a version on freewebshare.com.

Thank author of this post/commentI think their day has come and gone. They are probably doing some corporate solutions, but for personal use I would go for avast home or AVG which are both excellent free options.

Thank author of this post/commentThanks for the input about f-prot. I realised that they probably weren't up to the standard of the top packages today, but in a way I am a bit fedup with Nortons having paid so much money out over the years to upgrade and update, and I'm still not sure whether they are the best solution out there.

Thank author of this post/commentThe problem with the smaller vendors or developers is definitely that they can't easily supply the same level of support as the big guys do. With so many threats proliferating almost daily one needs the assurance of having the very best virus definitions available at all times. This is why I am prepared to pay for Norton or one of the other big names.

I am also having problem with viruses that just appears in my computer. Why all of the sudden there are some malwares in my computer? I think it might be because of my brother who uses the computer while I am at school. I do not know what he is doing with it but I know that he might be browsing into some sites with viruses. Anyway, thanks for those advices.
